Summary

1. Top 1.5 lakh candidates (including all categories) in the merit list of JEE (Main) Paper-1 will be eligible to write JEE (Advanced).
2. The Offline Exam of JEE Advanced 2015 will be on Last week of May
3. The JEE (Advanced)-2015 will have two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & 2. Each of the question papers will consist of three separate parts in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
4. The question papers will be printed separately in English and Hindi.

About JEE (Advanced)

The JEE (Advanced)- will be conducted by seven zonal IITs (under the directives of the Joint Admission Board) for admission to the undergraduate programmes in all IITs. All the candidates aspiring to take admission in the undergraduate programmes at IITs and ISM Dhanbad for the year 2015 will have to appear in the JEE (Main) - 2015 (Paper 1).

Important Dates for JEE (Advanced) 2015

1. Registration for JEE (Advanced): 2nd May to 7th May, 2015
2. Date of Examination: 24th May, 2015 (Sunday)
3. Results of JEE (Advanced): 18th June, 2015 (Thursday)

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria shall be followed to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2015
1. Date of Birth - Candidates of GE and OBC categories must have been born on or after October 01, 1990 and those of SC, ST and PwD categories must have been born on or after October 01, 1985. [Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.]
2. Number of Attempts - A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times and that too, in consecutive years.
3. Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination - Candidates must have taken at least five subjects i.e. (1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of the (subjects—Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical & Vocational Subjects), 5-Any other subject) in class 12th / qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Advanced) - 2015. With at least 45% (40% in reserved category) marks in above subjects taken together.
4. Academic Qualification - The candidate must have passed in final examination of Class 12th or other qualifying examination. Those appearing in these examinations in 2015 can also appear in JEE (Advanced) - 2015 provisionally. 
5. Qualifying Examination (QE) - Admission to IITs and ISM Dhanbad will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced)-2015 subject to the condition that such candidates are among the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in respective categories. PwD candidates will be given relaxation in the eligibility criteria as per the decision of the Joint Admission Board of JEE (Advanced)-2015. The student must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Maths in Class-XII.
6. JEE (Advanced) Merit List for IITs will be announced on the basis of
  1. Merit list prepared based on Marks of JEE (Advanced)
  2. All students to be in top 20 percentile of their class XII exams (Mandatory condition)
7. Distribution of top 150000 candidates across various categories in the merit list of JEE (Main)-2015 are as follows:
  1. Top 75750 (50.5%) from the common merit list (CML)
  2. Top 40500 (27%) from Other Backward Classes-Non creamy layer OBC (NCL),
  3. Top 22500 (15%) from Scheduled Caste (SC)
  4. Top 11250 (7.5%) from Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates

Note: 3% of total seats in each category are reserved for PwD candidates (i.e. 2272 GE-PwD, 1215 OBC (NCL) - PwD, 675 SC-PwD and 338 ST-PwD).

Exam Structure

The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 2 separate Sections-1 & 2 in Paper-1 and 3 separate Sections-1, 2, 3 in Paper-2. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject of 60 marks. The maximum marks are 180 per paper. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. In some sections, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks. Question papers are provided in both English and Hindi Medium.

Note: Notes: Candidate should write his/her Name, Roll No. and the name of centre and sign with pen in the boxes provided on the right part of ORS. He / She should darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of his/her Roll No. in such a way that the impression is created on the bottom sheet.

Admission Procedure

Top 1, 50,000 (including all the categories) candidates will be declared qualified based on their scores in Paper-1 of JEE (Main)-2015. They only will be eligible to register for JEE (Advanced)-2015. All eligible candidates should register online at http://jeeadv.iitkgp.ac.in from 2nd May 2015 (10 AM) to 7th May 2015 (5 PM ).
While registering for JEE (Advanced)-2015, candidate need to provide the following information (as applicable) and also upload soft (scanned) copies of the relevant certificates:
1. Year of First Attempt in JEE (Advanced)
2. Choice of Examination City / Town
3. Choice of Language of Question Paper
4. Entitlement of DS Category
5. Requirement of Scribe
6. Original passport size photograph in JPEG format (preferably from digital camera)
7. Legible scanned signature as a JPEG file
8. Soft copies of Date of Birth, Class-X and Category and Sub-Category (PwD) certificat.
Note :Candidates using the SERVICES OF A SCRIBE will get one hour compensatory time i.e., the end time will be 13:00 IST for Paper 1 and 18:00 IST for Paper 2. put it in JEE-Advanced-2015 Above Admission Process
